USS Ursa Major

After assisting DS17 with repairs, the Ursa Major is on route to 4Z6, a system with a blue giant star located 12 light years beyond the Wheeler Colony. Her mission is to locate three embryos belonging to the Eratis race that have been sequestered outside of their system. It is believed that these embryos are the last of that race.

While on route, Science and Medical have been busy preparing a facility to receive and contain the embryos. However, the nature of these embryos has yet to be established. Closing in on a dwarf planet located at the far reaches of system 4Z6, several probes have been launched to scan the planetoid. Initial scans revealed that while the surface is very cold and uninhabitable, there is an underground area with class M-type atmosphere. Although, no live signs have been detected in that subterranean area, there seems to be power readings in the mega-watt range emanating from that general area. In addition, transient power readings were also detected around the space of the planetoid. The origin and nature of both power readings have yet to be determined.

As the Ursa Major dropped out of warp around the planetoid, an intruder alert was sounded. A plant-based life form, capable of secreting calming neurochemicals appeared in daycare with an intention to communicate. Security teams have been dispatched, under the command of Lt. Cmdr Reed to ascertain the threat level and to evacuate the children.

Quiet returns to DS17 as the last Gorn ships leave and the artifact causing ghostly appiritions is forced back into the sun.

At a mission briefing Ad. Hollis announces to the crew that while he was off ship he communicated to a mysterious alien called Eratius. Eratius, long dead, called across time to have the crew of the Ursa Major recover three embryos of her race and return them to the DS17 system.

It is believed that these immature beings might be hidden in a system 27 LY away called 4Z6.

Having negotiated an end to hostilities with the Gorn, the Ursa Major joins the surviving ships of task for Discovery at DS17. Crew from Ursa Major is assigned to assist repairing the base along with officers from Independence, Steadfast, and Triumphant.

Soon odd events are reported from the base and then from the nearby star ships. Ghosts seem to be haunting the station. As sanity begins to slip, an artifact is discovered just outside of the neutron star Eratis which DS17 circles. Leaving the base, Ursa Major closes on the artifact and uses 4 asteroids to nudge the artifact back into the sun.

On the way back to DS17, Ad. Hollis vanishes for a short time. While gone he communicates with the queen of a long dead race who once inhabited the Eratis system. She requests that he retrieve 3 embryos from a nearby system so that the species might live once more.

The USS Ursa Major and Gorn vessel Tenseiga arrive at DS17 to find the Star Fleet and Gorn forces in the final stages of a battle. Admiral Hollis and Commodore Sithrin anounce their agreed to truce bringing the hostilities to a close.
