June update
The USS Ursa Major, NCC-830214 remained near Deep Space 17. One group was given an away mission to Tzenkethi space to procure a Face Dancer that was being offered at an auction. The other group, led by VAdml. Hollis Calley, was to engage the Tholians in diplomatic dialogue.
The month started with the departure of the away team to Bungh Kho, a planet in Tzenkethi space. The team, led by LtCmdr. Vincenzo D’Onofrio, was disguised as a band of thugs with obvious interest in the Face Dancer. As a way to mask their origins, they had spent a night on Deep Space 17 and departed the next day in a civilian transport. On route to Bungh Kho in a borrowed ship named The Ruptured Duck, the team executed a plan to steal an assortment of captured weapons from a Federation transport. This move gave them access to weapons and devices they required for their mission that did not carry any Starfleet signature. Once on Bungh Kho, the team, checked in with the local auction authorities, confirmed their lines of credit and made arrangements to view the lot.
As multiple groups reveal their intentions and strategies for possessing the face Dancer, the Ursa Major group found themselves engaged with problems with their own. The animosity between Lt. Stephen Carmody and Lt. Jophry Calhan was still very strong, leading to early separation of the twoon the surface. LtJG. Will Carrington and LtJG. Darius Clack brought some unwanted attention to the group immediately after their arrival by injuring one of the Tzenkethi guards. Later on, the pair was in some skirmishes while following Carmody, who have ventured off earlier. Carmody and D’Onofrio met with Tash, who knew the team’s real identities. Calhan and LtCmdr. Takashi Chen ended up being locked in the same holding cell, independently of each other; Chen got there by some plan of yet another completing group, and Calhan was the result of antagonizing a Tzenkethi supervisor, while demanding to see the Face Dancer. After recovering from being stunned, the two captive officers contemplated their escape.
Light years away in the Ithassa Region, the Tholians were fast approaching DS17. It was thought that it was an attempt to secure a captured Tholian by the name of Korsmo, who was responsible for the capture, torture and disassembly of LtCmdr. Beta, a Soong-type android who was a former Chief of Security on the Ursa Major. The captured Tholian officer began a dialogue with LtJG. Susan Banks, the ship’s counselor. As the Tholian ships approach, the Ursa Major along with other ships, prepared to take counteractions. In the meantime, Korsmo died in custody, resulting in Banks being arrested for his apparent murder.
It remains to be seen what the cause and motivation behind Korsmo’s death. With the away team, it is still to be seen which group will win out in the bid for the Face Dancer and how the Ursa Major team will fare.
